Learn to manage your money so you get what you really want with Family Services Financial Literacy programs.

We have general courses and ones tailored for youth, newcomers, adults and seniors.

 

Adults & Seniors

PERSONAL MONEY COACH

Seniors and people on low incomes can get free support to reach personal finance goals! Offered in partnership with Prosper Canada with funding from the Government of Canada’s Social Development Partnerships Program.

MONEY SKILLS

Our free Money Skills program for adults teaches participants about banking options, budgeting, smart purchasing, and developing a good credit history. Offered in partnership with Vancity.

RESP INFO

Our free RESP info sessions show people how they can access up to $3200 / child in government education grants and start saving for their child’s education. Offered in partnership with Smart Saver.

Good financial skills set up youth up for success. Youth financial literacy courses are available free to alternative programs in secondary schools and youth organizations through our partnership with VancityVancouver Foundation, and JP Morgan Chase and Co.

Newcomers

COURSES FOR NEWCOMER WOMEN WITH CHILDREN

This program teaches newcomer women with children how to manage money and empowers them to be more active in managing family finances.

Free financial literacy classes are offered in partnership with other hosting agencies and are funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada. Subsidies for childminding and bus tickets may be provided.
