How You Can Help > Family Services' Brighter Tomorrows Lunch

One of Family Services’ goals is to end youth homelessness—a key social issue in our community today. Our Brighter Tomorrows luncheon is intended to address the complex issues facing Vancouver’s homeless population. Since 1928, people experiencing life’s challenges have been turning to Family Services of Greater Vancouver. By offering support, providing hope, and presenting opportunities, Family Services inspires people to realize and create possibilities for themselves. All of our work is about building healthy, vibrant tomorrows.

Keynote speaker bio: Judy Graves is a housing advocate and has been passionately working in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver for over 30 years to end homelessness. In 2005, she designed the Vancouver Homeless Outreach Project, now used across BC and Alberta, making it possible for a person who is sleeping outside at 6:00 am to have a permanent room of their own by 4:00 pm the same day. Judy is currently the Coordinator for the City of Vancouver’s Tenant Assistant Program. She recently received an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from the University of British Columbia and an Honorary Doctorate of Sacred Letters from St. Mark’s College.
