Family Services of Greater Vancouver

At some point in life, everyone gets stuck. Since 1928, people experiencing challenges have been turning to Family Services of Greater Vancouver—a community-based not-for-profit organization providing crucial social services to children, youth, adults, and families across British Columbia's lower mainland. We offer support, provide hope, and present opportunities—helping people realize and create possibilities for themselves. And we do this through a combination of professional counselling, therapy, education, advocacy, planning, and other supportive services. All of our work is about building healthy, vibrant tomorrows.

Our services range from prevention to intervention. We provide: abuse prevention & trauma treatment; addictions treatment; adoption services; community education & development; counselling; employee assistance; employment services; immigrant services; intensive family & parenting services; support for youth with special needs; victim support; and youth services for homeless youth and youth living in at-risk situations.

79 years after we started out, our 585 staff, together with 181 volunteers and 48 students, continue to provide crucial social services in over 30 languages at 20 locations throughout the lower mainland (Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby, New Westminster, and Surrey), Vancouver Island, and Northern BC. Last year, our annual agency revenue was $21,736,693.
