Michael is a Vice President and Institutional Portfolio Manager with Phillips, Hager & North Investment Management. Prior to his current role, he worked as an equity analyst with the firm, and he spent the first years of his career with Merrill Lynch - first covering Canadian energy companies in a corporate finance/M&A capacity and then moving to London to join an internal strategy group, where he focused his efforts on Dutch institutional clients.

Michael joined the Board of Family Services of Greater Vancouver in 2009, and currently serves as a member of the board’s audit/finance committee and strategic oversight working group.  A native west coaster, he brings creativity and strong communications skills to the table along with his experience in finance, and the enthusiasm and energy to make a difference in the community.

Michael holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) degree from the University of British Columbia and the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
