Children Affected by Family Violence
The Children Affected by Family Violence program is available to children and youth ages 3 – 18 who have been exposed to violence in their homes. The purpose of the program is to:

Directly help children and youth whose emotional health and self-esteem have been affected by exposure to domestic violence
Stop the cycle of violence by teaching non-violent ways to resolve conflict
Develop parental awareness of how violence affects the lives of their children
Provide community awareness of the effects of violence

Program Features

Individual counselling—including art and play therapy
Children’s support, educational, and therapeutic groups
Support services to parents—including group and individual counselling
School activities designed to address the prevention of violence—including parent information sessions, staff development, classroom presentations, and groups for students
Community outreach and education
