Most step-parent or relative adoptions can be processed by a lawyer without agency or government involvement. However, when the child is aged 7-11, the child must be interviewed by an authorized person who then completes a report for the court. Social workers at Family Services of Greater Vancouver Adoption Agency are authorized to provide this service.
Fees
There are no fees for services to birth parents. A fee schedule for services to adoptive parents is available.
