Community Leadership Projects in New Westminster

The Early Childhood Development (ECD) Parent Advisory Committee

This committee consists of parents of young children who are volunteer leaders. They meet regularly to champion the importance of ECD in the New Westminster community by working on projects related to the concerns of tamilies with children under 6 years old. These include organizing swap meets, developing a newsletter as well as many other activities.

If you would like to be a part of this project, call Pat Davison at 604.525.9144

The Community Leadership Mentoring Project

This is a project where leaders from a variety of immiprant communities receive free training programs to help others understand more about Canadian systems. This includes police; courts; volunteering; and municipal, provincial, and federal government. In turn, they share and interpret this information with their communities. In addition, they continue the work of the ACCESS NEW WEST project of bridging services that meet the needs of marginalized people.

To get involved, please call Maylen Crespo at 604.525.9144.
