Youth Services > Directions

Overview

Directions serves homeless and at-risk youth primarily 18 years of age and under, although some support services are available to youth aged 18 - 24. Many of these youth are homeless or living in poverty with no place else to turn. They are youth who, with a helping hand, can make it back to their families and home communities or obtain safe, affordable housing, education programs and/or stable employment.

The goals of Directions are: 1) to help youth exit high risk circumstances; 2) to help youth obtain stable and safe accommodation; 3) to help youth become successfully engaged in school, training or work; 4) to help youth acquire the skills required for independent living; 5) to ensure that, where appropriate, youth become successfully engaged in drug addiction services; and 6) to encourage youth to become positively involved in the community.
