Karin Kirkpatrick joined Family Services of Greater Vancouver as CEO in January, 2017. She is a visionary leader bringing expertise in strategic planning, financial management, human resources, and governance.

Karin comes to Family Services from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia where she is an adjunct professor in the organizational behavior and human resource division. Previous positions held include Assistant Dean of the Sauder School of Business; CEO of the Private Careers Training Institute Agency, a provincial crown corporation regulating the private post-secondary sector; and CEO of the Real Estate Foundation of British Columbia, a grant making organization supporting non-profit groups in sustainable housing projects.

Karin is a provincial appointee to the Judicial Council of British Columbia, and was previously on the boards of the Vancity Community Foundation and the BC Council for International Education. She holds a Master of Laws (LLM), International Law and Practice, from the University of Edinburgh, a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Human Resource Management, from Royal Roads University, and both a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.
